Sleep data very very inaccurate

Hi,

Garmin is aware that the sleep widget runs poorly. To be honest in a way you can't really use it.

When can we customers expect a firmware upgrade and new algoritmes for the sleep so we can use it?

I paid 350 euros for my forerunner 245 Music and actually believe I deserve more for my money.

Thanks.

  • Don't expect any updates for sleep tracking on 245. My understanding is, that the new algoritm used in newer watches was planned, but had some startup problems on those newer watches and now they don't want to "confuse" people at this late state of the product cycle. You say sleep widget, but AFAIK there is no sleep widget on the watch.

  • Thank you.

I tried the 9,58 update but the update wont show on the watch after i've uploaded the files

  • I have also installed 9.58. You must follow the instructions carefully. It is a two step process.

    1. copy GUPDATE.GCD file in the \Garmin folder of your device's internal storage drive. From the RemoteSW folder, copy the GUP3079.GCD file to the device's \Garmin\RemoteSW folder.

Disconnect the watch and let it do its stuff, then it will indicate you must connect again

    2. From the RemoteSW folder, copy the B2196080A.gcd file to the device's \Garmin\RemoteSW folder.

So far 9.58 works flawless for me. The previous beta had a day of constant reboot and I have never figured out why. I suspect it was either som time/date related problem or some server sync issue on garmin side.
