How do I make the timer stop automatically at the end of a workout?

My Forerunner 235automatically stops a workout at its end, with the Forerunner 245 I can't find an option to make this happen, but have to click thw button every time, then edit my activity to cut out the extra seconds (or minutes, if i forget to stop it).

Is this a design flaw or where do i find the option? I can't find it anywhere.

  • There is no such option. This is how it works on all recent garmin watches.

  • Yeah, they changed the behavior at some point and unfortunately you can't make it work the way it used to. Something else to look out for is that older watches would always automatically disable auto-lap during workouts -- current watches will respect your auto-lap setting during workouts, which could lead to extra laps you weren't expecting to see.

If you look in the forum several years back you would be surprised how many people complained about the old behaviour.
