Garmin Express Update Issue (M1 Mac OSX 12.2.1)

Just a quick heads up - I just upgraded to Garmin Express 7.12.1 and every time I look to see what music is on my FR245, Garmin Express crashes.

Rolled back to Garmin Express 7.11.1 (by way of Time Machine) and the issue was solved.

Just thought that this might help someone else.

Kind regards,

Nigel

Hello! Thank you for this, do I have permission to email you?

  • Hey,

I do have the same problem on both an M1 and non-M1 Mac Rechner running the current Monterey Version using the latest Express installation:

when I acces the music apps tabs the software crashes

My watch is also on the latest version.
    Any suggestions?

     Cheers

    l.

  • I think the updated Garmin Express version 7.13.2.0 fixes this issue. It now works on my M1 iMac running Monterey 12.3.1.

    Hope this helps,

    Kind regards

  • Hey Nigel,

thanks for the reply!  But unfortunate that’s the version I got and it keeps crashing on me :-/

    cheers

  • Hi Lennart,

I'm not sure I can help other than suggest you double check that you are on OSX 12.3.1 (or the latest 12.4) and then try deleting and re-installing Garmin Express.

    All very frustrating.

I've had Garmin watches for years, but find that the Garmin Express interface incredibly awkward to use, especially for transferring music onto my watch. My wife has an Apple Watch, and they nailed it in terms of ease of use and connectivity. She comes back from her run, throws the watch on the charging cradle - boom, it's done and automatically charges and syncs - brilliant.

I've had my Garmin Forerunner 245 music for a couple of years now, and generally really like it. However constantly having to make sure the contacts are clean in order to charge the watch, in these days of wireless charging, seems a bit archaic.

Unless Garmin come up with an easier method of music transfer and a sealed watch that can be charged wirelessly, my Foreunner 245 might well be my last Garmin. It's a shame as I really like the the Garmin Connect website for reviewing my running schedule.

Hope you get your Garmin Express sorted out.

    Kind regards,
