Coach Jeff - Mileage during drill workouts

I'm doing Coach Jeff's Half Marathon completion training plan on my Garmin (run 3x week). Twice a week, my "short" runs are drill workouts with his cadence and acceleration glider drills, which look like the following on my watch:

  • 10 min Warmup - Walk/ Jog
  • Other - Lap Button Press
  • 4x 30 sec cadence drill / 30 sec recovery
  • Other - Lap Button Press
  • 4x 30 sec Acceleration Glider Drill
  • 10 min Cooldown - Walk/ Jog

My understanding of the "Other - Lap Button Press" section is that it's just there so that I can make sure I am starting my drills in a safe location (e.g. not coming up on a busy intersection). Oftentimes, I just immediately press the lap button to move on to the next section of the workout. If that is how this "Other- Lap Button Press" section is supposed to work though, then these workouts are very short, with my total mileage for the workout averaging around 2 miles or even less (I usually jog the warmup, do the drills, and then walk the cooldown). This has gotten more concerning for me as the program has gone on, as I fear that I am not putting in very many miles during the week at all, and then I am expected to do a very long run on the weekend (which is often the longest distance I have ever run up until that point). I've read some things that say that your long run should only account for 20-30% of your weekly mileage, but in my case this week, my 10 mile long run would account for ~70% of my weekly mileage. I am worried a) that this makes me more prone to injury, and b) this approach is not adequately preparing me for race day. 

So, my question is, am I actually supposed to be doing additional running during the "Other - Lap Button Press" section? And if so, how long am I supposed to be running for? I feel like the wording / explanation of this "Other - Lap Button Press" section is very misleading, and I'm frustrated that I may have been doing these drill workouts wrong for so many weeks.
