9.00 Software Update - 245 Stopped Connecting to GPS?

Had 245 Music for 5 months. Never had an issue connecting to GPS/Satellite when heading out for a run or bike ride.... goes green and beeps in less than 30 seconds.

However, today I've been unable to connect to GPS all day. Sky has been pretty blue and I've been setting off from home as usual. After 5 to 10 mins, the bar has remained red and not even got halfway.

I've tried a soft reset and changed from Glonass to Galileo with no success. Just noticed that watch software has recently updated to 9.00... software updates are set to auto so I'm not sure exactly when this happened but I had no GPS issues when I last ran 2 days ago.

Anyone having this issue? Is there a solution? Thanks.

No, everything fine here. I don‘t think it has to do with the firmware version, BUT the GPS prognosis data is probably outdated. With it, satellite constellations are precalculated and interpretation of GPS data speeds up massively for the device. Without it, first positioning can take extremely long or even be impossible.

You can check the status by opening settings on your FR245 (long press left middle button „up“), go to „system“, then „info“, scroll down all pages until you see „CPE“.

What does this show?

Use „Garmin Express“ on a PC or Mac to synchronize your FR245. Usually, it is more reliable in delivering the GPS prognosis data then the Connect app.

Thanks for your reply. Can't connect watch to PC at the moment as I'm at work but watch CPE shows current

Ok, then you should try to start a GPS activity and see, if it finds the satellites and how quick.

If it still does not work, even with current CPE, something else might be wrong (hardware?) and you should contact Garmin support.
