My 245 has been great to me until recently. From around Jan 2022 my GPS locking has been very spotty. Some runs don't even upload a map (Strava connected to Garmin). Other runs display a map but when you play through the run on Garmin Connect my position in the city isn't smooth at all. It looks as if my GPS position pauses then jumps forward, pauses again, etc.
To add to this, from time to time it takes awhile to lock onto a GPS signal before my run. I have GPS + Glonass enabled.
I run with a Stryd footpod so now I don't even wait for the GPS lock anymore (lost patience) and just start my run since I can get my pace from an external sensor. However, despite my work arounds I'm frustrated. I upgrade from the 235 to the 245 for the safety features. If my device can't reliably capture my location then those features are almost useless.
I chatted w/ a friend that lives near me (MD, USA) and he has had issues recently too.
Any suggestions?
