Yes, that is exactly what is happening.
The training load widget also says „last 7 days“ - everything before that is not taken into calculation. So it can happen that the load goes down, even if you had a hard session, because your session 8 days before was even harder.
Hmmm, I think there are better ways to calculate this…

But as simple as it is, it does exactly what it says.
