White spot on Garmin Forerunner 245

I bought Garmin 245 watch in October 2019 in London airport. About 7 months later, it developed white spot on the bottom right corner. After lots of back and forth with the bangalore,india support folks, my watch(only dial) was replaced with another one around June 2020 for nominal fee since the purchase was outside the country. Now the white spot has re occurred again in the replaced watch!!! And in the initial call with the support team they said, I have pay nearly half of the original cost to get this replaced as warranty period was counted from the initial purchase!!!

I can understand if the issue was because of the usage. But this is clearly a product defect and why should the customer be penalized for a defect by the manufacturer?

It is sad and disappointing to see hard earned money go down the drain like this!
