Recovery Time Notifications?

Changes made from version 5.00 to 5.09:

Added support for Improved Recovery Time, which takes your stress, sleep, relaxation, and physical activity into consideration.

Software version 5.09 brought improved recovery time with recovery time notifications after you woke up. I no longer receive these notifications. Another 245M feature that has disappeared?

It's a bug. It happened to me as well. IMHO after the upgrade it starts to "learn" you from scratch, so it takes a few days but I got them back after a few runs.

Ah, you lucky, I updated my watch to 8.20 like 3 weeks and since then I have ran like 10 runs. Hopefully they fix the issue in the next release.

Thanks, tried that. Probably need a hard reset. But not too keen on going through all the settings and re loading watch faces, apps and courses.

I had one yesterday telling me that my recovery time was extended due to poor sleep. I'm on 8.2

Maybe you've not been sleeping well enough to trigger it?

That is a good point.

I use the FR245 since over a year, think I originally started with firmware 5.20

Only occasion on that I received status updates on recovery times was, when it would be shorter than the original prognosis (or longer), usually due to sleep.

Other than those, there were never notifications on recovery time, no matter what firmware.

I almost forgot about that feature since i haven't received recovery time notifications for many months now. I wonder if it's a software issue or caused by the update process itself, which i believe accounts for 99% of all issues listed in this forum. I guess a hard reset would answer that question, but like you i'm rather hesitant to do so. Perhaps someone for Garmin can weigh in on this?

Yes it would be nice if someone acknowledged this as a bug. I never updated my watch with a beta release, so I don't feel like a hard reset that will reset all settings, watch faces and data fields is fair.

I can confirm now for my part, that it is a bug.

Today my recovery time significantly reduced due to low stress, and I could read that in the widget. But I got no prompt on the screen and no other notification. On former firmware versions, it was working.
