Laps in km/h

On the app and the Garmin website, laps of e.g. 1 km or 0.5 km, have a pace of minutes per km for the past 15 years (?). I would like to get the km/h for each lap. Now I have to calculate this myself using a spreadsheet, cumbersome as my runs always differ, from 3 km (very often) to 6 (often) to 42.5 (once a year) km. Esp. on the marathon the drop in speed on the last 10 km is "dramatic." This should be a small enhancement.

  • Why would you want to use speed over pace for running?

Pace is a much more convenient metric and gives you a better idea if you’re running the speed you’re aiming for.

  • For amateur runners like us, we want to know if we run around 11, 11.5, 12, 12.5, 13 or 13.5 or 14 km/hours, and if we improve with training. E.g. when 4:30 minutes is reported, this translated to 13:33 km/h, this is not a nice number.

  • You are right, pace is much more convenient when it comes to running. But better idea for checking if you meet your aims? I doubt it, both speed and pace give you the speed, ones only the inversed speed, but differences are visible with both.
