Upgrade & Scale Forerunner 245

Is it possible to Upgrade & Scale the functionalities of my FR245?

I mean, is it possible to buy some features (i.e. swim parameters of the Swim 2) and upgrade the smartwatch ?

The hardware is already present in the device to support all this features, it is just a matter to purchase a bundle of software improvement and update the device.

Imagine the logistical nightmare it would be for updates and support if Garmin sold watches ala carte.

Not easy but something that can be managed. I mean Garmin is a big company I do not think is impossible . In this way Garmin could standardize all devices in few models (entry level and pro) reducing complexity over the hardware and save money. Than user can scale the product adding features just for what of his interest.I think that Apple is a good example for this business model.
