Cannot find corrupt .FIT file

I just completed my first race today with pace pro and my Garmin 245 does not show it. I have never had trouble with uploading an activity the whole year I have owned it. I have searched endlessly online to find a solution. I downloaded Garmin Express for Mac and it does indeed show a few .FIT files from today that says they are corrupt. When I go to garmin folder from the watch, the last activity is from september 3rd and I have done several activities since then. I went into Garmin pending sync uploads and it does not show any activities. Thank you for the help!

Connect your watch to a computer and look in the \GARMIIN\ACTIVITY folder. Your race should be in there. Even if it's corrupt, we might be able to repair it for you. Try a manual upload to Garmin Connect Web - How Do I Manually Upload an Activity I Recorded to Garmin Connect?

If you get any message other than Import Complete, then there is a problem with the file. It is likely corrupt. Attach it to this thread. We can take a look to see if it is repairable.

Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
Or upload the fit file to a file sharing service, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc., make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.

Thanks for the reply! The past months worth of activity isn’t in there. The file from today isn’t there.

Going by what you said here -

On a Mac you cannot access the Garmin files on the watch unless you have Android File Transfer installed.

That’s what Garmin express said when it would sync. I’ll look into the file transfer. Thank you!

Do you see the activity in history of the watch? From the watch face, hold UP, Select History > Activities.

not anymore because i have deleted files (It said to do this to help with sync issues). Android file transfer is not working but when I plug garmin into my mac I can see the garmin drive. under activities file, the race today was never there. Most of my recent workouts were not there...

Power off the watch and leave it off until you're ready to try one of the recovery tools for MacOS. The longer you leave it on, the less likely you'll be able to recover the file as it will be overwritten with new data.

There may be others, but here's a short list:

If you're able to recover it, likely it will be corrupt and need to be repaired, in which case, please zip and attach it to your post.
