Trying to reunite a lost Garmin FR 245 to it's owner

Wondering if anyone can help. My son found a Garmin FR at a festival but it was dead. I bought a charger for the watch but I'm unable to identify the owner....thought I might be able to get some info from the watch to help me get the watch back to it's rightful owner - anyone know of anything that may help??

  • I know this is not helpful, but in case you were expecting Garmin to assist, this is from Garmin's support site: Can Garmin Do Anything About My Lost or Stolen Fitness Device? | Garmin Support

I Found Someone's Device. Can You Tell Me Who it Belongs to?

Garmin respects and protects the privacy and safety of all our customers. We are unable to share registration information with anyone besides the registered owner.

If you have found a device, we suggest that you turn it in to local law enforcement or the front desk of the establishment where it was found.

Garmin's official privacy policy can be viewed here.

If I were the one that had lost the device, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with someone tracking me down. I would probably report it as lost to the festival organizer in case someone had turned it in.

Just trying to be helpful & get watch back to it's rightful owner. Thot there may have been something on the watch which may have helped. But thanks for your quick reply.

  • Yes, I can appreciate that. A noble cause. Have you contacted the festival organizer?

Post the date and location where the watch was found.  If the person who lost it comes across this post, they can post their serial number that they'll have in Garmin Connect, GCM or Express to prove ownership.  As a side note, kudos to you and your son.  It's nice to know that there are still honest people out there willing to do the right thing.  Maybe a moderator can post this as a "sticky" for a week or two so it doesn't get lost in the forum?

I forgot to add.  If you place your mouse over a user's name, you can select to send them a PM there if they accept them.  For some reason I'm only able to do so from my PC and not from my phone.
