Forerunner 245 does not sync nor display activity summary after "Save"

Good morning,

My Forerunner 245 (version 7.20) was working fine until last week.

Since then, after a run, when I do "Save" , the summary of activity that used to be displayed just after is not relevant any more. It always shows the summary of an activity of 3 months ago, always the same. It's like it's frozen on an old activity.

Also, when synchronizing with Garmin Connect on my Samsung Galaxy, the activity is not displayed on the main screen.

Nevertheless, if if go on the "My Day" screen of the watch, I can see that the activity is saved. Also, I can see them on my Garmin Connect on my daily summary through the Calendar, but sometimes with obviously corrupted data (for example irrelevant activity duration).

Starting today also, it seems that activities does not synchronize anymore on Connect. The attachment shows the associated log file.

Any idea hw to solve this?

Thanks a lot for your help.

  • Probably a corrupt activity (fit file). Try a manual upload of your activity to Garmin Connect

How Do I Manually Upload an Activity I Recorded to Garmin Connect?

If you get any message other than Import Complete, then there is a problem with the file. It is likely corrupt. Attach it to this thread. We can take a look to see if it is repairable.

    • Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
    • Or upload the fit file to a file sharing service, such as OneDriveGoogle DriveDropbox, etc., make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.

To help prevent future issues, move the the fit files from the \GARMIN\ACTIVITY folder on your 245 to a safe location on your computer or other location. This could be causing the issue with activities not syncing.

  • Thanks a lot.

I did sync all files manually through USB and everything is fine again.

    There was no corrupted file.
