Hey! I'm experiencing the same thing. The light stopped working today. I've used my watch for two years and never had issues until today. I wonder if it's related to the recent system update.
Would love to hear other's solutions, but I did a factory reset and it did not fix the light.
I'm having this issue now, Ive had my watch for 1 week and suddently the green light turned off and there are no readings, no hr, no pulse ox, no steps. ive done a hard and soft reset, ive gone into test settings and done an update to v12. Pulse ox says is a software mismatch but when i try to update the software it says i'm already up to date.
did you find any fixes?
If you've done the factory reset and selected "Delete Data and Reset Settings,"
and that didn't work, then your next option is to contact Garmin Support directly starting from the Garmin Support Center.
Thanks, just wanted to make sure i'd tried everything before contacting them but yes seems this is the only way forward
9171971 We have a fix for this in an upcoming SW update. We also recently released Beta 12.01 which happens to include it. See Public Beta Version 12.01
If you are willing, please follow these steps to enroll, install the update, and see if the heart rate sensor will start tracking again:
Sign into Garmin Connect from a personal computer.
Select in the upper right.
Select the device name or image of the product you want to enroll.
Select Join Beta Software Program.
Read and Agree to the terms.

Hi, thanks for the reply! after I did a factory reset and tried to reconnect my phone to the garmin connect app it does not connect, the watch screen says 'go to mobile app to add device', and on the app it says 'connecting your forerunner 245, completing setup of your forerunner 245 music device' and then it fails every time.
Then I connected it to my laptop and added the beta program to it, so now on my watch it says there is a software update. But the battery is also a problem, it does not charge above 1% and will not let me sync and update the software because it says the battery is too low.its been charging for a few hours and does not move about 1%, also touching the back of the watch, it is very warm.
This all started about 5-6 hours after a swim, the sensors stopped working. that's when I undated the software to v12 and issues with the software arose. after I first posted, the battery then started to fail. I believe this was due to water damage. I'd swam in a 50m pool and during the swim it was working fine. Today I got a replacement watch and will not be swimming with it, as I worry this issue will happen again, even though it's suppose to track pool swim as an activity.
I just had the same incident yesterday. I swam in the pool with my Garmin 245 and now the heart rate sensor is not working anymore. Also the watch vibrates with a very metallic sound and sometimes the seconds are not updating in realtime. It's like the watch CPU is at 99% and things get laggy.
I am on the last Firmware 13.
Garmin-SierraGarmin-Joeywhat do you advice? I tried everything: hard reset with keeping the light button pressed for 30s, I tried the light+start+back 3 button procedure and letting go the start button after the 1st beep and the back button after the 2nd beep.
I see that in the about the version for the BMX is zero. I even tried disabling the heart rate monitor then keeping the light button pressed for 30s. This fixes the BMX version but still the heart rate monitor is not working anymore. Also if I restart the watch the BMX version again is 0.0.0
This is my 2nd Garmin 245 as the first one also died on me. please come up with a fix as this is really bad!
