What about this "great" sleep tracking? Improved or on the old one?

Hi, A few months ago I had 245 and read that this model had to get improved sleep tracking. I sold it later, and now I am thinking about re-purchase. Due to the fact that I experienced how tragically inaccurates these measurements were, I am curious if something has changed.
  • No, the update did not end up coming to the 245 even though it was confirmed it would and Garmin had not said anything about it.

Tonight I went to the restroom (about 20 steps) and the watch detected it as rem slee. I woke up and stayed in bed with muy phone for 30 minutes and it still said I was sleeping. So at least for me sleep tracking is quite bad.

It's the same sleep analysis. The only difference is it's available on a widget and you get a sleep score and insights.  For example,  sleep score 36, your sleep was poor and you should consider taking it easy today.  Does anyone really need a number to tell them how they slept and if they're tired or feel well rested?  If only I had a number and someone to tell me how to proceed with my life today. It's a gimmick that brings no value to the watch.  I tried it on my F6 and 945 and removed the widget after a week or two.

  • This is akin to saying Google search and Yahoo search are the same. It's not the same sleep analysis, it's a different algorithm made by different people.

You might have removed the widget from your FR945 and F6, but behind the scenes they are still using a better algorithm made by people at Firstbeat to calculate sleep times and stages.
