I ran into a weird issue today with a Track Run activity on my Forerunner 245M running the 7.20.0.0 software. The short of it is that during my Track Run activity, my Forerunner moved me from Lane 8 (which is the lane I selected at the beginning) to Lane 1 for reasons I don't understand. Screenshot of issue is attached.
Additional details are provided below as I'm not sure if any one of them is relevant.
- I selected Lane 8 at the beginning of the run, and I did not move out of Lane 8 for the duration of the workout.
- Weather was mostly cloudy - rain had just ended.
- I was running a custom 'Speed Workout' that I have previously used for regular Run activities:
- 1 mile warmup <-- lanes switched about halfway through this step of the workout
- 45s fast/45s slow x 10
- I calibrated on this track on June 6 in Lane 2 and it appeared to work flawlessly (that run was a 5K); this was my first run post-calibration.
- I realized something was off after my 5th "interval" based on the audio prompt pace readouts.
- I stopped the activity and immediately started a new one - a 1 lap jog in Lane 8. It did NOT ask me which lane I was in. After 1 lap, I was at 400m - that's what made me realize my lane had changed.
- I stopped the second activity, went all the way back to the home screen, and started a new Track Run activity. This time, it asked which lane I was in, and I selected Lane 8. I reached 400m before completing 1 full lap as expected.
- I did 1 final activity - a 1/2 mile run in Lane 8. Everything worked as expected again.
Has anyone else run into something like this?
