Blue triangle reboot when trying to access suggested workout from calendar widget 7.20

I successfully started a suggested workout from the calendar widget two days ago, however, today when I attempt to start a suggested work out from the calendar widget the watch blue triangle reboots every time. I am still able to successfully access the suggested work out from the run activity menu. Anyone else having this issue?

  • I have same problem. After update to 7.20 the watch restars if I select the suggested workout on calendar. Sometimes if I switch off and on the watch then it works, but next day the problem is back with the new workout.

  • Sorry, my answer may not really help you but I've had a similar issue with v7.10, it seems fixed now with 7.20.

NB after the update I've done a soft reset (as I usually do after an update - keep the light button pressed for about 20 seconds until it switches off), don't know if it helped, you may have a try.

  • Update: it keeps on crashing also with 7.20, it is however sporadic.

As dsmith42, no issue accessing it from within the run activity menu.

  • Same problem here. The watch restarts if I select the suggested workout on calendar. And worse, I lost my last sleep data after this restart.

  • Is it possible to report bugs to garmin. I haven't figured out how.

  • I have been trying to figure out if there is a pattern for this problem to occur, but it is completely random. And this crash corrupts some fit files sometimes. When I sync the watch via Garmin Express, an error message shows up stating that I have to manually delete some fit files in the \Garmin\Metrics\ folder.

I'm really disappointed with this suggested workout feature. I had to disable these prompts.

I was thinking about an upgrade to a Forerunner 745 but I'm afraid to buy another buggy Garmin product.

  • Having identical issue. No new firmware has been released as of this writing.

  • Thanks! Will bookmark.

  • Hi all, we are currently tracking this report; I have a few questions for everyone.

First if you can reproduce the issue can your reproduce it and then immediately send me your Debug folder and your Workout folder, (I'll direct message you to get contact data so that we can communicate via email).

Are you using a Forerunner 245 or a Forerunner245 Music?

Is this occurring when doing any workout type or only Daily Suggested Workouts?

For saving your Debug and Workout folders please follow the steps below:

    • Plug the watch into a computer
    • Open the Garmin Drive
    • Open the Garmin Folder
    • In the Garmin Folder locate the Debug folder
    • Copy and paste that folder to the desktop
    • Right click and select send to compressed zip folder
    • In the Garmin Folder locate the Workout folder
    • Copy and paste the Workout folder to the desktop
    • Right click and select send to compressed zip folder

Once you have the two folders let me know and I will reach out directly to collect that information.
