Hear beat measure: Wrist vs Polar OH1 ?

Hi,

I have a forerunner 245 and I'd like to couple it with a polar OH1. I am a bit confused between the measure done at the watch (at the wrist) and the one done by the polar OH1.

Assuming I keep as enables (in the parameters) the measure done by the watch at the wrist AND I wear the OH1, where does the info about heart beat I see on the watch come from ? The watch itself or the OH1 ?
From the same perspective and same assumptions, what about the info on the Garmin Connect app ? Is it coming from the watch itself or the OH1 ?

In other words, shall I disable the heart beat measure done by the watch when wearing my OH1 ? In such a case, it seems I lost the info about heart beat on the watch.
