When will be the sleep widget available?

The current sleeping tracking in F245 is quite inaccurate, and noticed that the FirstBeat sleeping algorithm has been deployed in some Garmin devices some months ago. Don't know any chance for F245? And any targeted schedule?

From a 3-month F245 user

  • You won't have good sleep tracking with FR245. The new Firstbeat algorithm which is supposedly better and more precise (but still quite behind than that of Fitbit's) has not been given to FR245. Only FR745, FR945, Venu 2 and Fenix 6 series have it, if I remember well.

  • According to DCRainmaker: "The sleep one was actually interesting, as I asked why that didn’t get it, and they noted that while they had planned to, they were concerned that with the FR245 tending to be a more broad market base, having a wearable change sleep-algorithms (likely shifting results) mid-cycle was going to cause confusion. I kinda get that, and kinda not. I think some of the early teething issues with the new sleep algorithm when it launched on the Fenix 6 kinda scared them a bit, and I’m not sure they’ve healed from those wounds yet."

Unfortunately, it seems like they using the old algorithm.

  • when will the sleep score be available for garmin FR245?
i do not want to buy a samsung or ticwatch pro ultra!

  • Well there is a new beta out for the 245, 745 and 945. The 745 and 945 beta includes: Improvements made to on-device sleep detection and sleep staging.

Unfortunately the 245 beta includes no such improvements. Plus there is no sign of an imminent release of a 255.

  • This is how Garmin thinks they can milk out the community!

  • All,

Garmin strives to maintain products in the field by providing software updates that fix bugs and occasionally even provide new features that were not originally present.  We regret that we cannot always update existing devices with new features. In the case of the on-device sleep features, we will not be adding this feature to the Forerunner 245 Series. We always strive to provide superior products with superior features. Forerunner 245 is an excellent runner’s watch with a great feature set and it has been improved to perform better than ever through many software updates over the last 3 years.
