what headphones to buy

Hi,
Im planning to buy the forerunner 245, mainly for the spotify feature, so I do not have to bring my phone on runs. But which headphones are compatible? I'm looking for around-the-ear headphones, preferably with the controls directly on the headphones itself, and not on the wire.

Try Jabra Elite 65t or newer, I'm using it 5 days a week with FR245 music, works as charm

Very much depends on what you want to spend... I use Otium Wireless (Amazon £23 - £25) with my FR 245 Music. They have good sound, are proving super reliable and IMO can't be beaten for the price. My wife uses aftershokz Air (~£100) which are better if you need / like more ambient sound. Both have controls via buttons on the headphones themselves.

I'm using the Aftershokz Aeropex without issues.

Airpods Pro go for around $200 refurbished on Amazon, and they sound fantastic with the watch. Not sure if you're into apple though.
