Forerunner 245 music - lap button and training

Hi,

I'm new to Garmin watches.

Yesterday I had my 2nd training session with Jeff.
The screen showed me "Up next: cadence drill" and an arrow sign near the back/lap button.
When I pressed the button, the watch didn't move to the next step of the training but rather changed the view to a watch.

I figured out it could be because I disable Lap key (Setting -> Activities & Apps -> Run -> Run Setting ->Lap Key -> off).
I did it because I was accidentally pressing Lap key while running.

I've enabled it back and now I can move to the next step of the training.

Should I indeed enable Lap key for moving to the next step in a training program?
If the answer is yes, is there a possibility to configured lap to be a two-button hotkey like in other watches?

Thanks

  • Hi, you should have the Lap Key enabled to progress through the workout. You can lock the keys by holding the top left button then selecting lock keys, however once unlocked they don't go back to being locked unless you re lock the keys.
