PAI Health no longer supported by Garmin

Garmin is ending support for PAI Health, anyone know why?

  • A work around to this is to use a Polar HRM which will link with both your garmin and your phone PAI will link to the Polar software. This raises the question however that if you can use 3rd party equipment, why use Garmin equipment? And going further, why use garmin at all when an adequate smart phone costs less than a Garmin

I've been using Garmin equipment for over 20 years but if garmin are going to dictate to me how I can use the records of my hard work, perhaps it is time to say goodbye to Garmin.

SatNavs have become obsolete because of Google Maps; are Garmin pushing for the same to happen to their sports devices with these poor decisions?

  • It seemed like they scrapped PAI to release their own Firstbeat alternative, but this has not happened, so it's totally perplexing as to why they stopped PAI from using our data. Also Apple, Fitbit and Polar trust PAI, so don't think Garmin has a reason to not trust them.
