Surfers thoughts...

There's a Garmin app for for surf tracking and I can add surf as an activity.. All saying compatible with forerunner 245
I would have thought the 5atm not recommend for surf?  I contacted the developer othrough connect IQ app and he said no problem.... Any surfers use the 245 watch in surf???

    Hello, while certainly there are no software reasons you wouldn't be able to use a surfing app on the watch, one of the reasons we put the app natively on the Instinct - Surf is that the Instinct has a 10 ATM, and we would consider Surfing to be a High Speed Water Sport https://www.garmin.com/en-US/legal/waterrating-definitions/. All of the Forerunner devices have a 5 ATM water rating, not suitable for High Speed Water Sports, so while certainly use of a Surfing application would work from the software side of things, we would not recommend it based on the hardware of the device. The application "Surfing" was not developed by Garmin and was the only application I could find. If you have found one developed by us, please include the URL link and I would be happy to report it to our team for further discussion.
