Is there anyway to reset your training status?

Basically a few days ago my 245 had a bit of a paddy whilst out doing a easy run. I was fine, felt good but according to my watch my HR was way higher than normal thus since then my training status is stuck in the red and saying "overreaching" and showing a value of over 1600. I know I'm fine as I usually do several runs a week. So can it be reset as pausing the training status doesn't work and if I keep on running it's just going to keep on saying the same thing.

  • I’d just keep on running as normal. Over a few runs it should sort itself out. I sometimes get an abnormally high rate for the first few mins of a run like as if I was in a 5K so get a distorted load of stats. Later on in the week after a few runs it’s all good.

  • Thanks. I did notice today being a rest day that it had dropped substantially, first time in days it's changed so hopefully all will revert back to normal

  • It’ll sort itself out. Like millions of others I had to stop running during the lockdown for six weeks last spring. Put on about 3kg and for the first few runs, even short 40 min ones  overloaded my status, after about 4 runs it was a bit better, about 8 about normal.  (For such a long time not running)

Remember it’s the week to week, month to month difference that’s important not 24-72 hours.

  • One thing you could try is exporting the original activity file, (so you have a back up on your computer) then deleting the activity from your account, and your watch. That way it doesn't take that number into consideration. I personally would just do what Caferey is saying and just remember when it comes to your 7 day load value, it will be out of there in the next couple of days.

  • Thanks for the tip. Just came back from a quickish run and I'm back in my optimal range and overreaching has changed to unproductive.
