Screen corruption

For the last last week my 245 has been experiencing screen corruption. It will mostly go if you select an option but the figures on my run were unreadable even though it still tracked everything properly:

Has anyone seen this before or know what I can do to fix it please?

  • I believe you should contact Garmin Service.

  • Hi Lee,

A few standard things I would try:

    • Soft reset: Hold the top left button for 15 seconds, ignore the controls menu, and ignore the emergency alert, just hold the top left button until the screen shut off on it's own.
    • Restore the watch to defaults: From the clock screen press and hold the middle button. Press the middle left button once, then the top right button. Then press the middle left button three times. If you can read it, it should say Reset, if not, that's the exact combo I pressed on my watch to get there. Press the top right button, then press the bottom left button, then press the bottom left button again, and finally press the top right button. That will restore the settings to their default settings.

If neither of those help, but you are in the US or Canada, I can assist you further; if you are not in the US or Canada, I can direct you where you would need to go.
