Forerunner 245 size and ergonomics problem

  • Hello I bought the forerunner 245 watch as a replacement for the forerunner 230 because it suits my expectations perfectly. But I bought it without trying it, thinking it was similar to my 230 .. (COVID obliges) and big disappointment. She is smaller !!! The screen is fine but I cannot display the stopwatch in the left field when I run .. !! (4-field configuration) Indeed beyond 1 hour it no longer displays the hours .. !! The selections of the 5 buttons are not pleasant because they are smaller .. !! The selections are harder and it pulls my hair out .. !! Very disagreeable..!! It is a shame not to have made a bigger format reserved for the Forerunner 745 and 945 which would be perfect. It's a shame about the format. Wanting to make it too small doesn't suit everyone. Unfortunately the purchase comes at a cost. It is from last Sunday and I can only regret it. Very disappointed with the ergonomics ... !!! I regret the format of my forerunner 230 that wearing it replaces. Best regards.

  • That sucks! What a shame they don't give you the watch dimensions on the product page before buying. Maybe they should include it next to the specs? Someone should suggest this to them.

after that I really didn't pay attention to the dimensions. I didn't think garmin had reduced them so much on entry-level models like the forerunner 245 ... I’m a little disgusted by this strategy. I would have had to turn to the forerunner 945 for the dimensions  .... But it's not the same budget .. !!

  • Do you forget everything after an hour and so you need the hour at running? Just sayin...

The hour is present but in a small format.... I run with 4 selected squares.. for the timing one after an hour or more they reduce the 1or 2...in my forerunner 230 no format reduction..!! And it’s more difficult to select something because the 5 selections button are too small like all the watch and it pulls my hair out each time...!! But it’s a good system enough for my level for the moment... but in a too small general format..!!

Wanting it bigger doesn't suit everyone either.

    It is in the specs.

T’es it’s in the specs... I saw them.. I buy this watch regarding many things... I didn’t even thought that this difference size will be has different as that with the weir and the use of a sport watch. Garmin want to keep in touch with a lot of person.... girls and boys and reduced all the watches. But it’s a mistake. I want a bigger watch with the same functions. Even the 645 which is better has almost the same size...!!! Must buy a forerunner 945 but with too much functions..!!
