Software Version 5.50 - Forerunner 245 Series - Live

Clarification: For those of you who received 5.40 this update only includes the following:

Addressed an issue that caused VO2 Max update and Training Status to not update

If you have not yet received Version 5.40, then the update will include the above, as well as everything that was previously in 5.40 which I have included below.

Update can be downloaded through Garmin Express or Garmin Connect Mobile pending the rollout schedule.

- Fixed an issue that caused CIQ watch faces to display 0 calories.
- Added improvements to prevent dropped phone connection.
- Other minor improvements and bug fixes.
- Fix an iOS reconnection issue on some phones.

  • That is part of the issue - on Saturday my route map was maybe 100m off from where I actually ran, but still had the correct same and turns. However, on Sunday my route showed up on the map as being nearly 10 miles west of where I actually ran, and did not resemble the actual route I ran. Today, I did a walk and the map was accurate, but the GPS did not connect until after I had gone almost 2 miles. Maybe things are adjusting to the update?

  • The GPS issue was resolved on Sunday when the CPE data was updated.

  • Anybody seeing woefully immaculate calories since update? EG watch 2094 calories, Garmin Connect 3095. Oddly my wife has the exact same watch and her calories on her watch and Garmin connect are both the same? She's on 5.5 as well but mine has started this behaviour since the update

  • Used to love my 245 music. Now it won't recognise my home 2.4ghz WiFi anymore and as such, can't sync with Spotify to update music. Pretty much renders it useless to me now, after only 10 months of ownership.

  • Did this remove the ability to adjust the display back light? It seems to have vanished....

  • Hi,

I observed the same bug for my first run since I installed version 5.50.

I also confirm the workaround you described: switch to the light background and it worked.

An additional remark about the text notification: I think it's useless. The text is redundant with the red and green gauge. And it's too small to be readable during a run.

    Regards

  • I seems to have issues with energy drainage as well.
Fully loaded yesterday at 10:00, today at 10:00, its down to 60%. haven't been using the watch extensively, not more then a 30 min run yesterday otherwise just in normal mode, i dont even have smart notis on.
Went down to 90% ish, last evening, and now its 60% ish.
