Recording indoor swim to strava question.

When I download a 500 yard swim from my 245 to strava, strava shows it as 547 yards. Any suggestions on how to correct that?

Indoor swims are recorded based on the pool length and sensors telling the watch you turned around.. so this is not exactly precise.

Thanks for the replies. I understand it's not GPS but based on pool length, my garmin is set for 25 yard pool which the pool is. My question is the watch says I swam 500 yards, which I did, but when I download it to Strava, Strava says I swam 547 yards. It has done this 4 out of 4 swims. Wondering why the difference in distances.

OK, nevermind, I found the problem. I had the watch set on 25 meters not 25 yards. (Palm-to-face.)
