Forerunner 245 - frequently disconnecting from Bluetooth

I have a non-music forerunner 245. These last few days, my week frequently disconnects from Bluetooth. It's happens intermittently, it's randomly disconnecting and reconnecting throughout the day. 

I just did a full factory reset on my watch this morning and I'm still having the same issue. 

Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?

    That will work for a couple of hours maybe but as soon as you turn off Bluetooth on the watch and turn it back on after a few minutes the problem comes back

    Hi,

    Just to say I've started getting this issue too.  I've got my 245 (non music) paired to my S8 phone (android 9).  Never had any issues with bluetooth, then sometime in last few weeks the watch started giving the bluetooth fail message and 'try again'.

    Seems like it might be related to phone proximity.  When watch and phone are close, I can clear the error message then usually, they'll re-pair and sync by themselves.  No need to do anything else.

    Perhaps the code controlling what happens when watch/phone go out of bluetooth range has a new bug and is no longer disconnecting correctly, causing the error to be thrown?

    Would be nice to get this fixed as I'm constantly clearing the screen from the 'fail' message at the moment.

    Hi.

    1). uninstall Garmin Connect

    2) app -> show system -> bluetooth -> storage and cache ->clear cashe  (may be restart app, I am not sure)

    3) install Garmin Connect

    I’m having the same issue with my Jaybird headphones. So frustrating!

    This is only a temp fix unfortunately. I had 3 disconnects within a 5K  run today

    I saw those threads and found I am not the one having this annoying issue, my FR245 can connect Bluetooth normally while in activity, it can receive notification and sync, I guess it works fine while GPS being active only. My SW version being upgraded to 5.6. Extremely disappointed and annoying, the bug lasted for more than 4 months without fixes.

    PLEASE fix this.  This has been going on so long.  It's also not just Jaybirds (though the update didn't fix it for those anyway) it's most BT headphones.  Seriously considering returning my 245M for a non-music since I can't even use it for music at the moment anyway.

    It's amazing how long such a major bug has been going on for and Garmin hasn't been able to fix it.  Terrible support on their part.
