GPS Connection Issues - FR 245

I've had Garmin watches for years, and my Forerunner 245 is about 6 months old. Recently it's been having long delays connecting to GPS, and this is while running in my usual residential streets on the East Coast, not near high buildings or mountains. Today it took 3.5 miles into a 5 mile run to lock into GPS and produce a map on my Garmin Connect app. And yet, the numeric total distance and pace were about what they'd usually be. Has there been a satellite issue lately or is this my own watch's problem? BTW, I have called customer support and deleted activities when this happened a few weeks ago. Coincidentally or not, the connection temporarily improved.
