LiveTrack during ultratrail (with poor signals)

Hi all!

I understand that the LiveTrack function needs a cellphone to work.

Is it fair to say that the function wouldn't work if used during an trail run, deep in the woods, where my cellphone reception is really bad (where I could not place a call because of the poor reception) ?

Is the Live Event Sharing (SMS send to contacts, instead of the RealTimePosition as in the LiveTrack function) would work better? (Or at least would send the SMS when the poor reception allows it).

I want to be able to provide my family & friends the best way to track me during an ultratrail race where cellphone signals are bad.

Thanks in advance!
