I had Tom tom watch before Garmin, and i never, i mean NEVER, had any problems like this. Very dissapointed in Garmin, as GPS problems are unacceptable from company like this. I guess the service is not…
I have an HRM Tri. I can't answer the second question definitely, because I'm not the one of Garmin engineers :) but it measures running characteristics with MEMS sensors. Also, it measures your step length…
Thanks for that I ensured I had all the updates. Tried turning off and on. Made sure the device was fully charged. Tried multiple times syncing back to Garmin connect.
Today was the first time my FR245 couldn't get GPS connection after updating. Thanks to my HRM I was able to do my running and get all the running statistics, but it was a far unexpected. I'd been waiting a few (more than 5) minutes until the watches got the connection, but I couldn't wait until it happened, otherwise my warm-up would have no effect anymore.
FW version 5.0
I had the same problem today: gps+galileo and gps+glonass - same issue. It just got stuck in the last part of acquiring the signal.

Does the HRM get the distance and pace if the watch GPS is not locking on?
Yes, only GPS track is gonna be unavailable
Which strap is this? How does it see the distance without GPS?

unfortunately, that has no effect :(
