Fr245 won't pair to iphone

I have given my husband my 6 month old Fr245 as I have another smaller sports watch to use. However, although I have removed the 245 from my account, I cannot pair it to his iphone. I don't know what to try next! I've gone through the Garmin troubleshooting list but nothing helps. Garmin Connect is on his iphone and he has an account but it is unable to find the Fr245. I don't know what else to try.

    Good afternoon! Did you manage to solve the problem with connecting the 245 to your iPhone? I have a similar problem, a new watch, does not connect to the iPhone, synchronization is interrupted in half. Maybe it's a manufacturing defect?

    I have the same issue and ticket with support. Nothing seems to work to get it to pair. Far as I can get is the 6 digit code but then it just stays on setup over 15-20 mins until I just have to cancel it. 

    This use to be paired back in July 20' but some update most of broke everything? I have no clue.
