How to disable sounds during activities

This is driving me crazy. I have a Forerunner 245 Music, which I like a lot. However, I cannot figure out how to turn off the beeping on notifications during an activity. Is there a way to do it? What happens -- I'll start an activity, receive a message, and my watch will beep at me. I really want it to not beep at me (vibrate is OK though).

I'd be happy with totally disabling the speaker on the watch too, if that's an option (who wants a watch to beep, anyway?).

My watch firmware is 4.40.

What I've already disabled: (android app) Phone > Sounds & alerts > Alert tones [off]

I've also verified that under "Phone notifications" it's set to "vibrate" only for both in and out of an activity.

On my watch, I've also played around with "audio prompts > Audio Tones", to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks, that was already off. I think I've fixed it with by changing (on the watch) the alerts to on and then back to off (for the "during activities" setting).

In the notifications widget you can choose the behavior of notifications IN AN ACTIVITY and OUT OF AN ACTIVITY
