  • Installation Instructions

    1. Connect your Forerunner 245 to your computer using the USB cable.
    2. Download and unzip Forerunner245_487Beta.zip. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder of your device's internal storage drive.
    3. From the RemoteSW folder in the unzipped download, copy the GUP3114.GCD into the \GARMIN\RemoteSW folder on your device.
    4. Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the watch, and wait for the update to finish.
    5. If you would like to revert to the last public release software, place the GUPDATE-440.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder. Rename GUPDATE-440.GCD to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device. NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
    6. To downgrade your peripheral software, place the GUP3114-401.GCD from the RemoteSW\Downgrades folder into your device's \GARMIN\RemoteSW folder.
  • I don't see a GUP3114 file.  There is a GUP 3079 file though

  • These were lifted from the 945 page so the process should be identical though the filenames might be different.

  • The content of this release note is very exciting.

I hope the battery consumption will be controlled and that the poor performance of the latest firmware will start to be resolved.

  • Thank you! I very much appreciate the new functionality that was added. Hope the battery issues are fixed. So far so good.

  • I feel that this 4.48 firmware is superior than 4.41

Since upgrade i only use 0,274%/hour with my special watch face "Acti Face" (-> this one is very good with low draining screen automatically set when you don't move.)

(With Gearmin watch face the problem is still present around 2-3%/h -> I really start to understand that the problem is the watch face Gearmin. Maybe a upgrade done by the developer with a new framework that cause battery issue on my 245)

    already identified enhancement:

-better view for widget "body battery"

    - weather management  (only visible in some special watch face with weather) -> better refreshing of info: temp/wind speed/location/...

-battery: to confirm on long term (with my 4.41 is sucess a global 15-16%/day)

    Keep in contact :-)

    Update 2,6 days after:

    I currently succes a 12%/day draining -> around 8 days with a battery.

But due to hot weather no outside activity (no gps)

Let see in 2 or 3 weeks

But i'm confident in this 4.48 firmware. For one time, it 's seems that we only have extra features, without regression :-)
