Incorrect height corrections on garmin connect

When forerunner 245 dosent have barometer garmin connect using height corrections. But when disable the height corrections on some of my mountains hiking tracks i get more correct data when its disabled and more incorrect when its enabled. Its like that on some of my mountain tracks.

  • Someone has some comments or answer ?

  • I've noticed that as well with some activities. I often end up with 1m gained on Connevt with correction enabled, and 40-50m withit disabled.

I do most of my data analysis on Runalyze, and they tend to have a more accurate (IMO) elevation gain corrected upon import. For a similiar activity as above, Runalyze would peg the gain around 32-37m.

  • Elevation correction can fail badly, especially on steep slopes, because just a small position error can send elevation many meters off. When you disable elevation correction, then elevation recorded by GPS is used, which is in most cases acceptable under clear sky, especially when constant and relatively rapid elevation change occurs (for example when climbing or descending).
