I'm trying to figure out the wildly varying stress scores.
Personally, mine caries day by day but doesn't correlate with my activities nor well being (I don't drink, stressful days are not always reflected as such, etc). I want to point out before going any further that I am not getting sick (or if I am I have intermittently had it coming since I got my watch at Xmas but never actually got ill!).
I also note how some people report having low stress scores through the day, some medium and some high. Again with mixed reports of perceived accuracy.
I know Garmin displays stress as an interpretation of Firstbeat's HRV reading software.
My question is, does Garmin have a baseline HRV value it uses to determine stress levels and scores that it applies to everyone or does it "tailor" the values to the individual? If the later, for people who find it does not accurately reflect their stress state why does factory resetting the device show better perceived results in the interim before reverting back to "inaccurate" readings?
Flaired with Forerunner as I have a 245 but understand this applies to many. To save the obvious, it is on the latest software, the hardware is not faulty, the ohr is not broken or damaged, it's not being worn too tight or too loose.
