Hello,
I have now Forerunner 45, but sometimes I need more data, so I was thinking buying 245. But now I read that there are some problems with it, so I was wondering should I buy it or no?
Any advice?
Hello,

I would recommend buying it. I have used a Garmin Forerunner 225, then bought a Garmin Forerunner 235, and bought a Garmin Forerunner 245 Music in May 2020 when my 235 finally died. (The 235 heart rate monitor said my heart rate was at 173 bpm all the time.) I love the 245 and have had no problems with it.
It means that during an activity, you can switch between sport. Let's say you start running, and right after that, you start biking. If you have a watch that support multisport, you can get that running och biking in the same workout.
Now when the FR245 not can handle multisport, you have to first end your running-workout and start a new workout when biking. And those workout will show up as separated when viewing them in the connect app
I upgraded my gear the very same way - from 45 to 245 after 6 months. From HW point of view 245 is a great deal for that price. And once they remove that annoying bug from last FW 4.40 (disconnection of HRM during watch alerts for a short moment), it will be even better again
Functionality and feature wise it’s good, but the optical HR is rubbish, especially for running as this watch suffers from cadence lock. I doubt manny people are even aware. If you want accurate HR then you need to buy another optical strap from Wahoo/Polar or get the chest strap.
My daughter and I both have one. Both are the non music version. No problems so far. I bought them right after they came out. I recently upgraded to a 745 because I wanted some of the features the 945 had but didn't need the maps. I go for a walk everyday and wear my 245 when I walk and as my everyday watch and wear the 745 when I run, hike and ride my mountain bike.
