My Spotify app keeps randomly disappearing from my watch.

Today I went to go for a run and poof, Spotify wasn't on my watch (Forerunner 245 music) anymore. I didn't uninstall the app or anything. Has anyone else experienced this? It's happened to me twice now within a couple of months and it's really freaking annoying. Nothing like being ready to run out the door just to have to troubleshoot and reinstall an app that you never uninstalled in the first place.

  • Same here again yesterday. Time to fix it finally...

  • I have had this issue multiple times.  I may have it solved.  I started putting my phone next to my watch when I update playlists.  The only thing I can think is that the update has something to do with a bluetooth connection to my phone.  If that connection is weak, bad things can happen.  I have not had the issue since I've started making sure the phone is right next to the watch.  The only way I've been able to resolve the issue once it happens is to reset the watch and start over, keeping the phone close seems to keep the update from messing up the Spotify app on the watch.

My spotify also uninstalled itself. Thought it was because a new update was coming June 15th. So then will it happen again?

And I who have terrible problems even with the updated version of Spotify because the sync of music goes off after a few songs. Takes a day to bring in some playlists.

  • This does not prevent the issue, it happened again.  I did not have to reset the watch this time, just add the app again from my phone and log in and reselect my playlists.  Garmin support said to check with Spotify, Spotify links to Garmin support of course.

Happening to me too, has anyone solved it?

  • I've got no longer the issue. I Think it was related to the release version. Are you updated to the lastest version of Garmin Software (5.00 currently) ?

Yep, currently updated to 5.00. Was it the last version that caused the problems? Thanks for the reply.

  • In my case, I have associated that problem to Spotify (Version ?) and the version 4.40 for Garmin.Since few months no problem.

  • I gave up using it, firstly due to the battery life, secondly due to it constantly changing.

Now just run with a spibelt and my phone for music, as I need it to carry my inhalers anyway.

I'm sure they must have fixed it in V5.00 and there is a spotify app update for the watch also.
