Significant Running Tracking Errors

Former Member

Hi all,

Hope everyone is keeping safe and well.

I just purchased a Forerunner 245 Music. First time I have owned a Garmin watch so had high hopes for the tracking.

In short, the GPS tracking on my runs seem way off, I usually do a 5k in 20 - 25 min range and this was telling me I was on track to do a 40 minute plus time. When I looked at the map feature I could immediately tell that there was something wrong as what should have been a simple running loop in a circle was red lines going everywhere marking a very different route.

I have tried all the different GPS settings, given ample time for the GPS to lock and find a signal and this is still happening. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have listed three screenshots.. one from my phone ‘Nike Running’ (not using watch) and the Garmin’s for comparison (exact same running loop).

Cheers!
