HRM reconnects at the end of each interval

While doing an interval run the other day, I noticed that a few seconds after the end of each fast interval, it said "ext. HRM connected". When looking at the data from the run, it is also visible that there is a short break with no heart-rate data monitored at the start of each slow interval... Anyone knows what the cause is for this?

I am using a HRM-strap by TomTom (which I used for my old smartwatch), which usually seems to work fine, except for this issue.

Same for me with SW 4.40 and HRM-RUN Appeared directly after update from 4.20 and seen during every single run.

Too bad to hear you're dealing with the same issue. I am also on 4.40 and it didn't occur during 4.20... Even replaced the battery of my HRM, but that didn't help either.

I still have the issue - and so do others. Aren't there any Garmin officials on this forum who could be of any help or at least acknowledge the problem?

Ah, that's interesting, Ive just posted an issue with connections to zwift dropping out at fixed points. This appears to be when the watch alerts, such as laps, intervals, speed etc. This very much points to a drop in Bluetooth connection when the watch does something like alerting.

Thanks for commenting - that indeed sounds like the same or a similar problem! Hope Garmin staff can comment on this.

Same here, 8 to 16 drops per 1h. Mine drops to around 72 bpm. I suspect my FR 245M instead of HRM-Run since I've changed strap in warranty, but the issue still persists.

This is an old msg... but the problem is still here in 2022... I have exactly the same problem on my FR 245... I recently started to do a lot of interval training workouts planned on my watch and every time there is an interval change, the signal from my Polar H10 is dropped. Any solution or workaround has ever been found?
