245 Opinion

Hi,

I am looking at buying a new tracker and wanted to ask about the 245. I know it is aimed at runners but running is not my main focus. I like the level of detail it gives you about your training, fitness and recovery etc, but do these functions still work properly if the majority of your workouts are not running based?

Thanks

  • It’s very much a running watch. It can be used for other sports, cycling for example. Have a look at D.C. rain makers site. You should be able to find a Garmin to suit your needs.

I will suggest not to buy this watch. It has got some known problem with screen. Customercare say its one batch, but I am skeptic. I think vivoactive 4 is good option. Almost same details.

  • Things like training load and vo2max are great, as also body battery. But for that, you should walk or run for at least 10 minutes and I would say once a week. Walking is not hard and I am doing it. The metrics are really good, this ones that takes in account your fitness level and advice you based on your specific fitness level.
