HR alerts stopped working

I use HR alerts during my runs. Every time I leave my desired range I get an alert in my headphones telling me the HR value. Eg "heart rate 141"

since the latest software update this no longer works. My watch still bleeps but I don't get the alert in my headphones of the HR value.

As I say, this did work fine, so how can I get back to the old behaviour?

(note I don't want prompts every lap or few minutes, I just want the alert when my HR is too high or low)

Yes. It got changed ( default Off) in the update. You need to set up again in the app.

Ah great. Thanks.

I had it set up in my watch and it still shows. I’ll delete the HR range and add again. See what happens.

does this happen every release?

No. It seems they added alert options so that’s why everything defaulted to OFF ( at least for me).

Deleting and adding the HR alert still did not work.

Enable it in “audio prompts”? ( don’t have my watch on me to check exact terms )

Audio prompts and alerts are different.

Audio prompts tell you some data every N minutes or lap. That can include HR.

Alerts are ranges of HR or pace etc. Set up on the watch. When you leave the range your watch buzzes and it used to tell me the offending HR through headphones at that moment. This is what has broken.

FYI - People on Reddit/garmin report the same issue ( but no fix).
