Garmin forerunner 245 music Wifi error code 0105

I cannot connect my FR245 music to my wifi. Even tried changing the security to WPA/WPA2-PSK.

What does the 0105 means?

  • I'm having exactly the same issue with my new FR245 device. I've tried multiple networks (all of which do work with all other devices), but no luck...

Me too. Does this have something to do with the new update? Really frustrating. Now my existing Spotify music that was already on my watch doesn’t play either. Says it needs “downloads updated”. Anyone else have this problem?

  • I just received 4.40 update a few mins ago. I'm still unable to connect to secured wifi. However, I'm able to connect to wifi if I set network security to "None". I just tried Spotify and it did work on my watch.

Have you tried setting wifi security to "None" -- did that help? You can easily test that using your phone's wifi hotspot so that you don't have to mess your router's settings.

  • has there been a fix. I just bought this watch and I am having the same issue

  • I bought a Garmin 245 Music yesterday. And I could set up Spotify and even sync one of my playlists to the watch. But for whatever reason, now that I want to download another playlist, when I choose it for download, watch tells me it cannot find Wifi. It does not give me any error codes, just a message that 'no internet connection'. But when I connect to wifi through Garmin Connect, there is a notification on the watch that connected to wifi. And I can sync the watch to my phone.

I have searched all the possible solutions for this issue which seems to go back to 2019. Wifi Security is WPA2, password length is more than 8 letters, and frequency band on wifi is 2GHz, SSID broadcast, etc. Also, did reset the watch quite a few times and it is fully updated. But no solution to this very annoying problem.

So, if somebody from Garmin is reading this, then please note that as somebody who has just switched from polar to Garmin, you have left me with no choice but to go back to Polar! Don't add features that are beyond your technical abilities. My Polar watch was M400 which is a very basic one compared to FR 245. And I am not even into listening to music while running, but thought now that they have added it for an extra 50 quids, then why not? And now I regret my decision to buy a Garmin watch.

I fixed the issue with my tactix delta after having the same problem. It's just a matter of changing the security on your network to WEP 128, and since then my Garmin can connect to dedicated 2.4 network, i have the other band 5g separate and the watch will not even pick it up as network. So change the setting and you solved the problem.

  • Simple answer - use your phone's hotspot. Connect to that and all springs into life.

  • This worked like a charm. Thanks.

  • Thank you 6087546! Poof your solution worked!

After screwing around for a long time with a non syncing music 245 (which worked great for the first 3 months) the secret answer is just connect your watch to your mobile phone's wifi (hotspot). With the downgraded security my Garmin watch now syncs like it should. I've been running without music for weeks with my music watch.

Garmin please get your you know what together and fix this. Or at least send everyone a message who has an account. This would take you a few minutes to prevent a lot of customer trouble and poor feedback.

  • As I wrote a year ago in this thread, using wifi hotspot without any security was the only thing that worked for me. Unfortunately, Garmin does not care too much about consumer experience, so they won't do anything about this obvious defect...
