Garmin 245 + OH1 + Soccer

Hi, I recently bought the Garmin 245.

I play soccer and there is a safety problem if you wear the watch. I also have the OH1 polar sensor, is possible to link the Garmin 245 with the information from the OH1?

Thanks.

Regards.

  • No. You can connect the OH1 as a regular heart rate sensor, that will provide live data when connected, but when you separate the watch from the OH1, then there is no way to get the stored data from the strap to the watch.

  • That's correct.
But he can still put the OH1 on his arm and the watch (perhaps even only the watch's body) in his pocket to get the 245's stats with the OH1's heart rate.

That is a nice idea! because I had some problems with the OH1 to detect the GPS when I am playing soccer. Or I can try to use the watch's body adjusting it to my bicep and also use it as a heart rate monitor while playing... not sure if its gonna work, but thanks for the idea!

  • Things like the HRM-TRI have a "batch mode" where it will download data after the fact for an activity (Open Water Swim is a good example), but that only works with Garmin HRMs and only on devices that support this feature (like the 935/945)

Thanks for the answer. Actually the 245 worked very good while playing soccer, I just removed the bands and I think that there is nothing that electrical tape and a bicep compression band can't fix, hehe... I was really amazed with the GPS, I played in a football 7 field, and the GPS was precise (you can see the spaghetti diagrams in red but only in the rectangle  where the football 7 field is), of course I think that is not precise as a GPS designed for soccer as the one the professional players wear.
