Need help with data fields

I am trying to use data fields downloaded from the connect IQ store. They show in Connect as installed on the 245 but I cannot locate them to use on the watch. I want to use one of them for an activity but when I go to: Menu>Settings>Activities & Apps>Running>Running settings>Data Screens>Edit, I don't find the installed data fields to choose. The only choices I have are: a single data field; two data fields; 3 fields or four fields. I can't find the ones I installed which have more than four fields. For example one I have installed is called RunningDF1. It shows up fine as installed on my 245 when I look in Connect but I can't figure out how to use it on the watch. I have powered off and powered the watch back on and that didn't change anything so maybe I'm looking in the wrong place? Thanks for any help that can be offered. So far I just love this watch but I am having a little difficulty figuring out all the customization tricks. I have watched several videos and red online instructions but this one to kill a problem I just cannot solve.

I think I figured it out. it's not intuitive, but it seems you need to use the existing single data field to add the custom data fields. Custom data fields use the whole screen as a single data field even though they give you multiple, many different numbers of data fields to view.

  • Garmins user interface and documentation are in the pre-apple nokia*s range :)  WHen you get to the data fields you first get to select screen (out of existing ones), than inside screen you can select layout (1 field, 2 fields, 4 fields). Than inside each layout field you can select individual fields, e.g. if you select 3 fields layout you can pick runningDF our of COnnect IQ fields group
