When I sync my 245 with Garmin connect on Android, my max heart rate and the HR zones on the watch reset themselves. Is there a way I can stop this happening? At the moment I have to manually alter my max heart rate before every run.

We are looking into this issue and would like to ask for a couple of things from affected users to help us out. Please respond in the below format to help us investigate this.
Same here with the Forerunner 945. Resets to the 220-age prediction! And I cannot use "Auto detect" either. Always reset to 178 even if I just run a run with AVERAGE heart rate of 182 and maximum heart…
Same issue ... how to prevent this?
Same here. Defaults to the 220-age prediction so have been inputting a fake age into the watch and connect to match the actual max hr.

Always reset to 178 even if I just run a run with AVERAGE heart rate of 182 and maximum heart rate of 204! This was NOT the case when I bought it so happened with some update. I sync with Garmin Connect for Android and use HRM-Tri chest strap for the heart rate when running.
Seriously Garmin! This is horribly bad for a watch as expensive as this one! Don't you have any regression and automatic testing of your firmware??? FIX THIS NOW!!

Seems as though this is happening to a lot of people.
Disappointed not to have had a reply from Garmin...
A long running issue Garmin has had is if your HR zones aren't changed in Garmin Connect online first (not the mobile app), then mobile version and watch will keep going back to the online settings every time you sync. Has anyone looked into this? Make sure the settings are correct online, save then sync your mobile and watch. I hope this helps.
It worked. I changed the max hr in garmin connect desktop and then synced phone to app. I then changed it back to the "correct" value and synced it again in app. Today after I synced this morning run and it remained at the set value instead of reverting to 220-age. Problem solved, thanks!
