Forerunner 245 Series SW 4.00 Non Music battery consumption still 40% higher than a month ago

I have a feeling that Garmin is only looking at the Music version when it comes to the battery consumption.

I have a non music Garmin 245 which after SW 3.90 and now with 4.0 it still consumes 40% more battery! Same conditions, same apps installed.

Before I used to get 7 days of battery with 0.500%hr and now I am in the higher 700-800 %hr

This is a 40% increase.

  • I`m stiil using 3.52 beta and I like the result of this firmware.

My statistics from "Device usage" (standart garmin widget avaliable on beta firmware):

    Uptime: 7d:06:28:37

    GCM: 7d:05:45:51

    Low Power: 6d:20:23:57

    GPS: 03:17:41 (gps+glonass)

    Backlight: 00:47:48

    OHR scan: 00:31:11

    ANT scan: 00:25:30

    BLE scan: 00:25:18

    WIFI: 00:00:00

    Battery remained: 7.0 %

  • Yes, this is very similar to what I used to have. Did you ever upgrade to 4.00? I'm curios for your battery results

  • yes, i used 3.70, 3.90, 4.00.

But i was disapointed in battery life.

I don`t know why, but 3.52 beta is best for battery life since 3.10

  • Thanks for raising this again. I run long during training/race season (5-7 hours)—the whole reason I upgraded from the 35 to the 245—and if this isn’t resolved by June or so on my watch is essentially useless to me, when it was fine with those long efforts last season.
