Battery only lasts 24 hours

Hi

I got a forerunner 245 music a couple of weeks ago. It's my first garmin and I have been needing to charge it every 24-28 hours. I noticed today on the box it claims a 7 day battery life.

Should I be looking to return it for a replacement as my battery it much much lower than that.

Thanks

  • Mine gets 5-6 days if I'm not doing workouts.

1 hour of running with music playing and GPS takes about 10% of the battery, so a couple of workouts every other day and I'm at 3-4 days between charges.

I've got default settings for back light timeout and I'm not a really heavy user i.e. I'm not constantly looking at the watch, pressing buttons etc.  You could try a factory reset to see if that helps?

Thanks - rang support and am returning it for a new one

  • Former Member We are sorry that we were unable to resolve this with you remotely. For any other users seeing shortened battery life, please perform a hard reset (holding power button in until display turns off) as the first troubleshooting step. This can often clear up issues like this.

If that is unsuccessful, it may be necessary to look at various device settings or recently installed Connect IQ items to find the cause of the high drain.

Thanks. I did try these but unfortunately this was a fault out of the box. Should be receiving my new watch in the next few days. Thanks again
